School Counseling
The Academy for Urban Leadership Charter School counseling program is to provide a comprehensive and developmental counseling program that addresses the academic, career, and social emotional development of all learners. Our school counseling program is an essential part of the total educational program. School counselors are advocates who provide support to maximize all students' potential and academic achievement. In partnership with educators, parents or guardians, and the community, our school counselors establish a culture of high expectations where learners are empowered to reach their potential while utilizing their unique abilities and interests.
For further information on the counseling program, counseling materials, or procedures by which a parent may limit a student's participation in the counseling program, please contact the school campus counselor within your child's school.
Harassment, Intimidation, & Bullying (HIB) Policy
At Academy for Urban Leadership Charter School we believe that a safe and civil environment in school is necessary for students to learn and achieve high academic standards.
Since students learn by example, school administrators, faculty, staff, and volunteers are required to demonstrate appropriate behavior, treating others with civility and respect, and refusing to tolerate harassment, intimidation or bullying.
Harassment, intimidation or bullying, like other disruptive or violent behaviors, is conduct that disrupts both a student’s ability to learn and a school’s ability to educate its students in a safe environment. Therefore, the school district will not tolerate acts of harassment, intimidation or bullying.
